OVERVIEW:
Amherst is a close community with amazing support for businesses, non-profits, and people. Physical literacy is all about using your body to develop movement skills that lead to lifetime activity, positive mental attitude, and increased cognitive ability. The library is a special place that supports reading literacy that works toward effective participation in society. Using the unique model of the library to loan out backyard games and recreational equipment would increase quality of life as well as academic achievement that leads to a better and more sustainable community. This program has been done in places such as Canada and has shown great success. A local partnership, donations, and fundraising could all help us grow as a community.

Libraries are a place for growth and communities to get together and do amazing things. This would give the community another place to get together that is family safe and inviting for all ages without alcohol or having to rent out a whole building.
